Eating on $1 per Day
As always, for most people they hate eating so much they spend a lot of money just to make it less painful. For myself, I find it such great entertainment, that almost always my weekly budget for meals and snacks exceeds $7. If there was an incentive other than increasing savings, I wouldn’t have a problem going an entire year spending no more than $365 on food
Ramen is 2 280 Calories for $1. The cheapest pasta and peanuts are a little under that. For a little while candy canes were as low as 10-cents for 600 Calories. Best deal would be oatmeal out of the bulk bins, over 2 000 Calories for $1 and more nutrition than the Ramen
There are days virtually every week I eat under 500 Calories, sometimes even very close to zero, but I just make up for it other days. Again, that’s the best entertainment in the world. Eating so little every day would definitely leave me sluggish, weak and frail, but again, if there was enough of an incentive at the end of the year I could manage — negotiations start at one year of the average American salary. I would just use that money to find different entertainment and I could make it through
And if I learned how to hustle for free food it wouldn’t even be a hardship (but that might go against the spirit)
