Pennies are Awesome
For US Dollars the most efficient currency system would be to have three coins, 10-cents, 50-cents and $1, and three bills, $5, $20 and $100
By using pennies and nickles we get daily reminders that we value wastefulness so highly
There is one other redeeming value for coins. It used to be if I found one on the ground I could pick it up and say “It only makes cents.” It’s funny because cents is pronounced the same as sense
Now whenever I come across coins I say “We goin’ to the strip club, we makin’ it hail.” It’s funny because strippers take their clothes off and give lap dances so they can earn hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars per day. Instead of making it rain with hundreds of bills, I’m asking them to provide their services by throwing six coins that total 18-cents
